A native of Washington, D.C., Keiju is a composer, pianist, and a pedagogue. As a composer, Keiju wishes to emancipate sound from music. Influenced by Marcel Duchamp and Ludwig Wittgenstein, Keiju's compositions stray from “aural music” by imploring the viewer to imagine their own sounds and concepts. As a pianist, he was awarded the Rosalyn Tureck Prize and featured on Classical WETA and WQXR Radio. He has most recently titled first place at the Puerto Rico International Piano Competition. He completed his piano studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where he learned with one of the great pianists of our time, Horacio Gutierrez.

As a child, Keiju performed frequently. He participated in the masterclasses of Barry Douglas, the Emerson String Quartet, Enrique Graf, Nakamura Hiroko, the Imani Winds, Joseph Kalichstein, Alexander Korsantia, Robert Levin, Julian Martin, Robert McDonald, Lambert Orkis, Boris Petrushansky, Victor Rosenbaum, Susan Starr, Vladimir Tropp, among others. He has performed in venues at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the International Piano Archives at the University of Maryland, the Kosciuszko Foundation in Washington, D.C., and in Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan. He has enjoyed making music with musicians from the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra, the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Blackbox Ensemble.

Keiju gave the world premier of two compositions by the award-winning composer and visual artist, Jaegone Kim: ”Le Cirque” for piano four hands, and “À travers une sphère de verre'' for clarinet, percussion, piano, violin, and cello. He will soon premier music by Hyungki Joo in The Oculus at the World Trade Center.
