Benefit concert for the Ukraine aid from a neighbor in need
"We want to set an example and appear together as millennials to show that we stick together across borders," says violinist Gabriel Karger. As the initiator of an overwhelming musical message of peace for Ukraine, in cooperation with Jeunesse, he brings together young students and graduates from the music universities in Vienna (mdw and MUK) and Graz (KUG), Igudesman & Joo, Teresa Vogl (moderation) and music by Mozart to Silvestrov (»Prayer for the Ukraine«).

My studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts of the City of Vienna (mdw),
the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) and the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) brought me to musicians* brought together within countless nationalities. What makes us different? The passport. What unites us? The music! My colleagues and I quickly realized: We want to set an example and act together as millennials to show that we stick together across borders and hug each other!Our project Young Musicians for Peace with Igudesman and Joo unites young students and graduates of Austrian music universities with the fantastic duo Igudesman and Joo for an unforgettable benefit concert.

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. Music knows no borders and connects people of all nationalities. Music and humor heal and give us wings to fly, especially in times of need and suffering. Youth is our future and we, Igudesman & Joo, want to help make our world a safer and more peaceful place for the next generation to achieve their dreams. As our mentor Yehudi Menuhin said: »A society without its dreamers can never be free«.
Pablo Boggiano Conductor
I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since 2007 my musical work has taken me to Ukraine. Kiev, Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk were places of my work. My last engagement took me to Lviv, where I made a recording for Naxos and my ensemble received an award from the BBC. I was very touched by the enthusiasm of the Ukrainian audience for the music of my homeland. Due to the close connection with my friends in Ukraine, I see the suffering, but also the cohesion across all regions and ethnic groups of Ukraine. Music can be an instrument with which young musicians conquer people's hearts. In this way we can jointly alleviate the suffering of Ukraine and set an example for peace.
Teresa Vogl Moderation
The fact that war is still raging in the 21st century, in many parts of the world and now also in the heart of Europe, leaves no one indifferent. Neither do I – and I , like many others, want to help and do everything I can to reduce the suffering . That's why I'm happy to be able to set an example by participating in this benefit concert: For peace and for the connecting element in art and music.
